This place is the real deal. The food is excellent and the price is very fair. This is a small operation and has the small business/ family feel. It's a true Mexican restaurant run by Mexicans. If you come here expecting the vibe of a chronic tacos or any other large franchise you may be disappointed because it's definitely not that. These are kind, good people, that will take the time to make you what feels like a real home made Mexican meal.

The decore is simple as they are not trying to be Vancouver's prettiest restaurant. The staff and ownership are an authentic group that offer a clean and friendly place to eat an excellent meal at a more than fair price.

I eat here several times per week as it is close to my house. One thing that I don't know if everyone knows is that they do breakfast. My favourite is huevos a la mexicana. It's scrambled eggs with tomatoes inside, beans, a small stack of tortillas, toast, coffee and OJ all for about $12. And you get free tortilla chips to munch on until your food is ready.

If you are reading bad reviews from people, I can guarantee that they were expecting some kind of hold your hand, canadianized dining experience. And this is not that. I am Canadian.. not being racist. Just saying it's not that kind of place.

Just come in, find a seat, order a beer, have a little patience and you will see that good food and friendly service is on its way.

I wanted to go to El Caracol cafe which is 2 door next but all tables were occupied at 3pm. So we decided to have burritos here.

It seemed busy here too. Only two tables were left.
Compared with El Caracol, here is less portioned, clean and fancy restaurant. But free chips with two home made salsas. That's good point. (Orange one is super hot. I had pain in my mouth)

The single burrito has guacamole on side. The teste was very mild.

Another difference was here has more drink menu even alcohols. (El caracol cafe don't serve alcohol)

Both Mexican restaurants are good and it's nice to have competitors under same roofs.

Been wanting to try this but leery by mixed reviews.
Happy to say was pretty good. Wasn't very busy so no waiting for service or delays in getting our food. Service was excellent. Had the shrimp burrito which sounds odd but was stuffed with shrimp and cheesy deliciousness. The avocado hot sauce very tasty. Bonus with the free salsa and chips. Only critique was very hot in the restaurant, we moved closer to door which helped. It is a small quaint restaurant just spoiled with AC..first world problem!

A good authentic Mexican joint. LOTS of classic dishes from soups to chilaquiles to huevos rancheros to tacos de lengua to... you name it.

The taco chips and homemade hot sauces are a great start to the meal. Muy picante!

I had the Cochinita Pibil... slow cooked pork in achiote. Although it was nice and flavourful with the achiote seasoning, It was quite dry... and the entire meal was actually lacking some moisture or elements to combine the dish. I ended up utilizing a significant amount of their red hot sauce and salsa verde to moisten things up.

Service is very nice... super friendly though maybe a bit slow. Manana manana as they say!

Definitely a great Mexican spot!!! They've got a very simple menu with a good options!!!
The servers are super nice and definitely very helpful with giving recommendations!
Now the hot sauces! The avocado hot sauce is by far the BEST and my favourite of all time! I almost finished the entire bottle and poured it on all my tacos!
The nachos are so simple, not salty and loaded with avocado, cheese and chicken!
It's a small place and gets packed in the evening so make sure you come early!
